As the Crow Flies
To cheer everyone up in these dark times, a music video by me and my daughter. Please enjoy and share the heck out of it!

Click here to enter! I know it's been almost a year since I've written in this blog, because I've been more active in other forms of social media. But what a way to come back, right?! This giveaway is to thank my fans for being my fans, as well show off the new items in my Etsy shop. If there's something you'd like to see in my shop, please feel free to offer a suggestion!
That's right, baby, I'm officially 42! Happy birthday to me! My sweet daughter is enjoying Christmas at her aunt's house, and I get a nice quiet Christmas here in Norway. Happy holidays, and blessed be!
I finally got a Twitter account. It began as a way to enter contests, but I figure that since I have it, I might as well use it. I don't know how often I'll use it, but please feel free to follow me, @LilleKraake. I always said I wouldn't get a Twitter account, but here we are, creaky old Crow catching up. I'm on summer vacation from norsekurs, and just finished a week of samfunnkunnskap, so I'm celebrating by throwing a party for classmates and gamer friends on Saturday. We're making spring rolls, 6-Spice Roasted Vegetables, Asparagus Spinach Pasta Salad, fruit salad, fresh pickled cucumbers, and will be serving other tasty snacks that are less healthy. Because, you know, party. I have a BIPAP that I use in order to sleep, but it was ordered and programmed for me in the US. If I want replacement parts that are covered under blåresept, I have to take the sleep test all over again and get a Norwegian machine. I understand why, but I'm having severe anxiety about it. I'm completely reliant on my BIPAP to sleep, and I panic now when I stop breathing at night. The test they did in the US clocked in at every thirty seconds. That's how often I stop breathing in my sleep. You can imagine why I'm not happy about having to be tested again. They don't even run the test, they send you home with equipment and instructions. I have very little idea other than that what to expect. My lovely daughter graduated high school! She is going to work with her father over the summer, and then plans to join JobCorps. I'm excited to add that she plans to visit us here in Norway next summer, if all goes well. She may bring her sweetheart with her, if they're able to get time off from work.
I've updated my web links page, so I recommend that you take a look and check out all the places you can visit me online. I don't have anything in my Etsy shop at the moment, but as ever, you're free to place a custom order. Yep, I finally have residency! Got it at the end of October, actually. I've been crocheting, knitting, painting and basically crafting my fool head off in order to have stock for a Christmas bazaar being held Sunday at the local Viking museum. That is also why I haven't updated this website until now. ^_^;
I had to open a new Etsy shop because they can't change my bank from the old one to a Norwegian account. BUT, that means I can now have a shop called LilleKraake! I've just got a couple of ACEOs in there right now, but whatever I don't sell at the bazaar will be for sale there. Now that I can work in Norway, I'm definitely open for business! Please feel free to contact me if you have an item you'd like to order. Shipping outside of Norway is a little expensive, and I can't send some items to some countries, but I'll do what I can to make you happy with your order. Tommy and I got married August 17, 2017. Check out At Last to see video of the ceremony (it's super short,) cutting the cake, and my favorite photos from the wedding. Everything was wonderful, and the dress turned out marvelously. Now comes more bureaucracy. We have to get permission for me to live in Norway, with a mind to become a citizen. I'm really looking forward to being able to live and work here! Wish us luck!
Most of my other blogs are defunct. I don't even remember passwords or usernames (some, I don't even remember the site!) While those writings are lost to the annals of time, I'll be updating this brand spankin' new blog as often as I update my vlog on YouTube, sometimes with greater frequency.
As you may well have gathered, I'm starting a new life in Norway. I'm remarrying (third time's the charm,) and will be sharing a large, beautiful home with my fiancé's lovely mother, grandmother and dog. We're going to set up a small studio in the basement (if his mother doesn't mind) so I can focus fully on art and the Craft. In the past ten years, I've had to set most of both aside, but that was then and this is now. I'm happy to offer free crochet pattern and recipes here, as well as exciting premium content, and you the reader get full input on what future designs I pursue. Those of you who sign up for my newsletter will get a subscriber-exclusive pattern or recipe each month! Spread the word, watch the vlog, and read the blog. The first blog goodie is a look at the crest I embroidered on the midriff of my wedding dress! Have fun exploring my site, working those patterns and cooking up those treats! |
